My name is Richard Smith Jr and my business has been in operation since 1985. Construction has been my  chosen career since graduating high school in 1981. I was fortunate to have a father/mentor, who learned his chosen trade of construction from a true "carpenter" in the 1960's. My dad and his brother went on to open a business together and framed a majority of the bigger projects in the towns of Stoughton, Canton, Sharon and surrounding towns in Massachusetts. Some of those apartment complexes like KnollsBrook apartments in Stoughton, condominium communities like that of Copperwood in Stoughton, and Custom homes in Algonquin Estates of Canton and Horizon Road in Sharon are where I learned my trade. 

I went on to open my own business and work for myself in 1985. I was able to work for custom builders and start framing bigger and more complex custom homes. I started to frame homes in towns like Weston, Needham, Cohasset, Duxbury, Falmouth, Oyster Harbors and many others.  As you can see in some of the pictures in the gallery, these homes had custom roofs, curved walls, custom windows, and even a "concept home" which was the first of its kind to incorporate "smart technology".  During those years, I was able to develop my understanding and abilities in the framing of custom homes, additions,  and decks. I was also able to see what it takes to bring an idea from start to finish. I am grateful to all of the builders who gave me the opportunity to learn all that I have.  

Mission statement: – When I chose my company name of "Top of The Line Construction", it was intentional because of the acronym "TLC".  Yes.. "tender loving care". Every persons deck, addition, or Home, no matter what size, is extremely important to them. My companies mission and objective:  Every project we have the opportunity to participate in, regardless of size, is just as important to Top of The Line Construction as it is to the owner.    

Company policies – Top of The Line Construction adheres to all of the latest Massachusetts and local town codes and ordinances. All of the employees and subcontractors of Top of The Line Construction are Licensed and insured. Proper Codes of conduct, ethics, and morals are always at the top of our list when we are working on any project. Top of The Line Construction will always use the latest means for safety and protection of employees, Sub contractors, and owners, as well as maintaining our job sites  clean of debris and trash.
